Student Awards
Outstanding Senior in Psychology
Each year an outstanding senior in psychology receives special recognition. The student is chosen by a committee of psychology faculty based on their scholarship and service to the field.
Eligibility criteria:
1. Students must either have graduated in August or December 2024 or are planning to graduate in May 2025.
Deadline: February 14, 2025.
Application process: Please submit the following required documents to the Psychology Department (psychology@txstate.edu).
- A nomination letter from a faculty member
- a current unofficial Texas State transcript
- a CV/resumé
Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award
Each year the College of Liberal Arts selects one undergraduate student from the entire college as its outstanding undergraduate student. One applicant from a group of psychology students who have distinguished themselves in scholarship and contributions to the field will be selected by the psychology faculty to represent the department for the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in Liberal Arts.
Eligibility criteria:
1. Junior or senior classification
2. Major in one of the departments of the College of Liberal Arts or in the Center for International Studies
3. Texas State GPA of 3.75 or higher
4. Completion of 30 credit hours at Texas State at the time of nomination
5. 18 hours of course work completed in major (including course work at Texas State as well as transfer credit)
Note: Students fulfilling these criteria who graduated from Texas State December or August 2024 are also eligible.
Students who received this award previously are not eligible.
Deadline: February 14, 2025.

2. a current Texas State transcript from Catsweb
3. a CV/resumé
4. one letter of recommendation from a Texas State Liberal Arts faculty member
5. a 500-word essay detailing how the liberal arts have contributed to the student’s education, as well as the contributions the student has made to the liberal arts.
